aardspeed Pillar of the Community 921 Posts	Posted 03/03/2015 7:34 pm Going through my nickels, I found numerous errors on various years, especially the 98's with extra material on the back of the beaver...found like 15 of them! Here are a few: DIE CRACK BELOW HEAD & ON "x" IN "rex" -------------------------------------------- DIE CRACK BELOW HEAD ---------------------------------------------------------- DIE CRACK BETWEEN "r AND "e" IN rex & NEAR "imp" & BELOW NECK -------------------------------------------------------- HARD TO SEE BUT DOUBLING ON BOTH SIDES( ON LETTERS) ------------------------------------------------------ EXTRA ON BACK-SHOWS NUMEROUS 98 COINS WITH EXTRA ON BACK TOO ------------------------------------------------------- DOUBLE NECK ON A 99 --------------------------------------------------------- EXTRA ON BEAVER HEAD Report this Post to the Staff

I've been looking at KG V nickels this past ~6 months for die cracks and can find them on maybe half of the coins I look at. I'm thinking about trying to identify as many different die (crack progressions) as possible for the 1922-1936 series. If someone else has already done this, please let me know as it's silly to duplicate what has already been done. Report this Post to the Staff
