Just stumbled across this site. How do you go about choosing a series or collection? Is there a website or book that has a complete list from inception till removal? How do you find out of unique or rare coins/bills? If I was to sort thru a pile of change what should I be looking for? Thanks!

Are you looking at circulation coins, bullion like the Maple Leaves, NCLT, which are the coins minted but not available through circulation. Your best bet would be to go to the book store and pick up a Charlton Guide of Canadian Coins. I assume by your moniker that you are from Saskatchewan.

Yup, flatlander, frost on the pumpkin this morning...brrr

what was the bullion like the maple leaves used for?

i have a couple years of the (NCLT? whats does it stand for?) minted coins in the cases in the 80's, there is nothing really special about these thou, do they just do this every year?

I suppose I'm looking for anything that is worth something, with history behind them as well. Looking at the bills from the early 1900 this morning and found that interesting as it looks nothing like the bills we have now. Also remember the 'pictures' on the back of bills, when I would receive them for my birthday from my grandparents when I was a pup.

Charlton guide have all the canadian coins, silver dollars, etc?

Edit- learnt about the devils grin on those dollars as well, can't see it too well but interesting. Suppose I'm into the unique or rare moreso than collecting whole sets, does this book cover them as well?
