Those are not milk spots, during the antiquing process the coins need to be submerged in a solution. Spots can form on the coin if there are air bubbles left on the surface of the coin during this process.

Today is the first time I opened this thread because, to be honest, I didn't really understand all the fuss over this set. But I saw it mentioned a few times in other threads so curiosity got the best of me. I speak as a collector, I don't buy coins to flip, resell or for investment ... I just buy them because I like them. Back when the first (I think) Moon Mask came out in 2008 I wasn't too impressed with it, the red lips reminded me of those wax lips we'd buy as kids. And the next one in 2009 didn't look any better. When I heard the references to the Gold Moon Mask I assumed everyone was talking about those ones and this set was the same design in silver. When I saw the first pictures in this thread I began to understand all the fuss and by the time I got to the later pics I was awestruck (no offense to anyone else's pics, because if you had to rely on a picture I took no one would like this coin lol.) This is one of, if not the, nicest coin design I've seen from the RCM. I couldn't stop looking at them and have gone back to those pages a few times. No matter which coin I looked at, it was my favourite. This is a coin that could get me back to collecting NCLT, but today's warm weather exposed a leaky roof and new coin purchases just aren't in the cards. Congrats all you collectors who took the leap and ordered a set, I think you have yourself a beautiful set of coins!

Thanks, sound like a good plan. On the bright side, I can pick out a perfect set before sending back? I forgot who's paying for the return shipping? I'm in USA.

Is cherry picking the 3 best coins to make up a set immoral? Or clever?

Quote: Do you have a favourite of the new ones? By the slimmest of margins, the Antiqued one. When I look at the pic with all 3 my eyes are drawn to that one.
