Oh, I understand We also didn't have calculators, and when they became affordable to the family (!) - it was forbidden to bring them to the school. So, you figured correctly - all the point (and basically the beauty) to split the number to the digits, and operate with them in the endless varieties. Yes, there is another way, but it less "advanced" (let's say for beginners) - to use whole number and try to fit : as example: someone got the COA 85 and his Year of birth 1985 - hooray or someone got COA 85 and lets say the Masks were created 85 years ago - another "hooray" but no speacial beauty

As, I am starting to see some of the details on the enamel now. It must be a very hard coin to photograph. I was wondering why some of the design elements would be covered up. The set looks like there's a lot to discover, especially with a loupe. I can see many hrs of enjoyment. A set to keep on display. I love the side views.
Silveroid pretty color explanation with the numbers. Some people do like their numbers. It can add another element of enjoyment to the coin.

To me it looks like they used a different die for the enameled coin. Some things on the coin are different then the other two.
The eyes are different for one thing , look at the position of the pupils.

These are tough to photograph indeed... I got my sets...very difficult to stop staring at the trio of masks...so much detail,depth...not overwhelming detail...just enough to keep ones eyes transfixed..trying to decipher compare and contrast one from the other two...alternating from one to the next...back and forth...repeatedly...can't put them down... I can't really rank them in order of preference - they are a trio that compliment each other...like say a trio of musicians - RUSH This set is very original... The artist Andy Everson did a great job here...

These spots are ancient grains of wisdom from those who didn't buy the set. :)

So looking at the gold singing moon mask and the enameled silver one, its appears they used the same type of die design because they are definitely different then the proof/antique versions. I assume they had to use a different die to be able to add the enameling. Interesting!

According to the mint's site, the antiquing and enamelling were applied by hand.

These coins very unique, for sure. Hot or in opposite, at least striking, minting etc on the high level. I got the box with the coins on my way to the work. Do not want to open it here, so it waiting for me in the car. According to the pictures, my favorite will be the Antique, since it shows in depth all the engraving. Will be happy, if RCM will issue something similar relatively rarely, let's say coin per year or set in couple of years - in order not to overwhelm and destroy nice theme. P.S. slowly, they moving out from the RCM inventory. Continuous and stable interest is much healtheir for item rather than hype. P.P.S : what are the COAs did you get - does someone got one of the "first" sets with COA below to 10?
