Hello there, new user but long-time reader (1 year?) and collector since childhood but more serious since 2013.

I mainly collect world coins as I pick up interests for different designs, series etc. and they surround me (there isn't an overwhelming amount of Swedish coinage to collect even though I collect these with great interest).

I do have a section of US coins, but nothing extremely rare.
I get my coins from either coin shops, coins shows (whenever they are, they are a commodity) and bargains from either shops or markets.
I'm also crazed about silver and as a student I spend maybe a little too much on silver. Maybe.

A little backstory:
The Swedish Krona, the official currency, was introduced in 1873 with copper 1, 2 and 5 öre, silver .400 10 öre, .600 25 and 50 öre, .800 1 and 2 Krona coins and lastly, gold .900 5, 10 and 20-krona coins.
Today, the coins commonly seen in circulation are 1, 5 and 10 krona coins, with the original 1 and 2-krona coins still legal tender. This means; SILVER IN CIRCULATION!
I have pulled about 13 silver (.400) 1-krona coins and never received a 2-krona coin from circulation. Rare as most silver in circulation my mum has pulled two coins lately, one of which in our change jar that I could've picked up . Despite that, I am pleased having at least one family member interested in coins, though just slightly.
I also have a friend who's more of a passive¨collector, he doesn't usually buy coins on his own.

I haven't tried CRH but I have had the posibillity of checking my dad's coffee machine's change for silver, rarities etc.

Anyways, I'll be fun to become more than just a reader of the forums and actually participate in stuffs!

Welcome! I guess the US isn't the only country with 40% silver still floating around.

I have a small collection of Swedish 1, 2 and 5 ore coins, bronze composition, with the incuse designs from the 1950s to the 1970s... big fan of those!!

Circulation of the Swedish 1SEK coin is about 1.384 billion or about 140-150 per capita. The 5SEK coin is circulating at a little less than 20% as high. By value each coin quantity is roughly $16 per capita.

That really is a lot of coins. Jars full! Once the coins are declared invalid next year, are people expected to keep all these coins as collector items? Or can people with jars going to be able to turn them in?
