My dad and grandma on my moms side both had small coin collections and when they passed away , my sister and I got the collections. It wasn't until I received an Effigy Mounds Quarter error though that sparked my interest in searching and learning alI can. I have several smaller error coins , but on the hunt for that life changing coin , mainly hoping to find it in time to pay for my mom a nice assisted living facility when dementia is to much for me to handle. Please be patient with me, I seek knowledge so usually ask many questions to gain it . I am grateful for this online community , The people in my area I have encountered in the hobby usually don' t seem to want to share any knowledge and has always been kind of rude , so I have kept with my hobby for Over 3 years now , but did not reach out to anyone about coins or collecting until now due to those bad experiences. So, I am more of a coin accumulator. I accumulate coins that I find interesting (for a number of reasons) and/or attractive. For example, I thought it might be fun to collect the US coins from my birth year. So, I am working on that. I purchase an occasional coin online, from the US mint, or local coin shops. Over the years, I have found myself with an amount of change. When I find myself bored, I can sift through portions to see what I have. Report this Post to the Staff

I picked up the interest in pennies after doing a google search to learn more about one I had. This interest spiraled and have become fascinated with the history behind the US penny!! I also newly discovered my father in law (of over 8 years) has a lovely coin collection started by his grandfather! I am told I will inherit this but have yet to sit down with him and go through his lovely collection! I am so excited to do so!
