I see a spiky hairdo on the standing figure; that and the general state of undress led me to believe it's likely to be Sol, the sun god. Sure enough, here are a couple of examples on Wildwinds. Sear (millennium edition) #6331. The reverse legend would give more of the imperial titles (something like PM TRP VII COS II PP). Fortunately, you don't "need" to read it to date the coin, because the obverse has the date; something you don't often get with Roman coins: IMP VIIII (Year 9 of Septimus Severus, or 197 AD).
