This is, I think, an interesting coin:



1834-N-3-Double-Triple?-Profile

Here is what I found out about it:
Wright (p207) discusses the "chatter-strike" problem for 1816 to 1835, and estimates that 1 out of 3 cents in this time period has doubling somewhere - some of them Double Profiles. A double profile does not constitute a separate variety or even a different die state. (Wright, John, The Cent Book 1816-1839, Litho Technical Services, 1992)

I've seen others like that. The mint was just moving into the new mint building and was in the process of getting the new steam presses. The old screw presses were worn out and it was difficult to keep everything tightened up. The resultant lossness in the moving parts lead to these chatter strikes ( Machine Doubling). Once they switched over to the new presses the chatter strikes stopped. (Or at least became much less frequent)
