Looks like the original listing was pulled. It has been relisted with a warning: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1885-Libert...em4ae5e47fddThe seller notes as follows:"I've bought this coin in ebay some years ago. It cost me almost $2500
Some people told me the coin may be counterfeit. Have fun with bidding. But remember I can't guarantee the authenticity. Coin is sold as fake. I think it's genuine but some people told me it's not. Some other people told it's genuine. So please judge yourself and bid whatever you are willing to pay.
No returns or refunds. Insured shipping from Germany"

I lean fake; needs more denticles on the second strike. They're on the die, after all.

If this piece was genuine, it would have been in a slab, years ago ... Come to think of it, I need to get my 1885 slabbed ... Probably XF details!

Listed as a one day sale with a $1200 opening, not interest. Relisted againa as a one day sale with a $1200 opening and no interest. relisted yet again as a one day sale with a $1000 opening. I think he is hoping to et a quick sale and avoid it being brought to ebays attention. Otherwise why not do a multi-day sale and give more people a change at seeing it?
Oh and it IS a fake.

I say fake - no doubt in my mind.

Maybe, maybe not. These fakes have been around for awhile and he could have been suckered back then. (Or he may have been marketing the whole time. Who knows.)

Think he's trying to keep it away from our view. By now, even if he started innocently having been originally taken himself, it's on him.

Do not get suckered in. This coin is fake as fake can be. He has been listing it since last Summer and it has been discussed on many coin forums. It is a fake.

Hmm don't know how I missed this one for so long. I can't see any way that this could be real. I would expect a distinctly different look for it being struck multiple times like that.

Not a chance it's real. All I needed to see was the date.

He does them as one day sales. He is hoping to get a quick sale to a sucker before he can be discovered. reported and ebay does something about it.
