My best is a $50 1950E Star note (got it from the bank). I started a thread in the Grading Practice Forum to see if someone would help me put a grade this bill but no luck so far.

The best circulated note for me was the first one I found in my pocket from my wife telling me she loves me. Oh, sorry, guess thats not what you are talking about. Jim

Jim1953, when you say circulated, are you implying she got it from someone else?

I went to the bank today and got 250 dollars worth of 2 dollar bills. They were all 95's and 03's but found several consecutive serial numbers

A few years ago a woman came into the bank to make a deposit. My teller friend called and said get over here right away. I left work and was there just a few minutes after the lady left. She had deposited an uncirculated strap of 1950 $20s with 6 consecutive star notes in the strap, a couple of VF 1928 $100s, an envelope of about 100 circulated silver certificates, an uncirculated strap of 1953 red seal $2s and a bunch more circulated straps of cash ( circulated 1928-1950 $10 and $20s). They had been sitting in a safe for 50 plus years and she was depositing them to use for a grand daughter's wedding gift. I cleaned out my saving account and bought all of the cash. I kept only the best for my collection and ebayed most of it and sold a few notes to some fellow collectors. I can't remember what my profit was but I replaced all the money I had taken out of our savings, put quite a bit into my collection and paid for the family(very large family) vacation that year.
The best I've down since then was a teller that held out a 1934 $100 for me.

I just got a 10 dollar star note to add to my dozen or so one dollar star notes. I pull them from the cash drawer at work and the ten is the largest I have ofund. However, I am kind of broke so I may have to spend it sometime in the near future.

I just sold the $50 1950E star note I listed above for $700 to Heritage Auction Gallery. I'll take that $650 profit.

Do you sell it to Heritage or you use their auction? how much is it? Do they take off a percentage when the auction is over?

I sold it directly to Heritage. My local coin shop didn't have a buyer for that level of star note so I contacted Heritage. I thought that I might sell it on ebay but I think star notes are kinde of hit and miss there. He offered me a fair price considering they will need to sell it and make a profit as well.
