I posted this about 10 days ago. It just arrived today. It's in the old green pcgs holder.

Is it worth a shot at 65 or will it happily stay at 64..

I see 2 shallow scratches in the obverse right field and a hit on her skirt, also some chatter by the "L". The reverse looks good with only a very shallow mark by the eagle's head. I think this could be a toss-up. It will depend on the graders' moods at the time.

I have to agree with Susan and feel MS-63 is all you will see on this particular half. Will be interesting to see just what does come back so let us know!

As Susan pointed out there are at least 5 marks
The three marks at the L look more then chatter
So I think MS64 is generous
I would have hesitated between MS63 and MS64

Hi grovey

I think the grader was on the mark the first time around !! MS-64,, No way will it make a 65 !

I dont think it was the small hits that kept it from being graded higher, but the weak obverse would be my guess.

Save the money on resubmission and enjoy the coin for what it is !!!

Rick

I would also agree and I might add that there is a bit of a price bump between 64 and 65 so I don't think you would get it in a 65 holder easily.

I am no expert but I have heard plenty of times that the price difference between the grades can have an effect on the odds of whether a coin might or might not holder at the next grade if it is close. But, take my opinion for what it is worth which happens to be exactly what you paid for it. ;)

Edited to add: Nice coin, BTW! I'd be happy with it at whatever the plastics says!
