I got thsi 250th Anniversay of birth 1732-1982 of George Washington. I've been trying to open this but I can't. Should I stick a knife somewhere and cut it open or is there something I am missing? Here is a picture of the coin in the holder that I want to get out.

Quick and easy way is to turn it on it's side and slightly hit it with a small hammer. Be sure to hold the coin by the sides as to not let the coin fall out. You aren't needing to shatter the container...just separate the 2 pieces at the seem.

Using a knife is doable but one slip and you stab the edge of the coin

And I know from personal experience that if you drop these on the floor then your problem is solved

Please just take this as a suggestion and be careful how you decide to go about opening it.

lol, I tried the hammer and if I hit it any harder the plastic holder would break and possibly scratch the surfaces lol, I tried then knie without luck and tried dropping it and that didn't work either. I am going to try and file it open. TBH I don't even know why I want to open but just to hold it lol.
-edit-
lol, I just got pist off looking at it and cracked it and carefully broke it apart without scratching it. Anger fixes all!

Agreed ... pleased to see a new member with interest in Commemorative ... but going back years to resurrect old threads is not helpful to the CCF family.

I have learned nothing new from RMAN4443 prolific posts ... and quite honestly they have served to break the continuity of current and honest discussion on the topic of USA commemorative.

I welcome a new contributor to the topic ... but do not agree with a posting strategy of going back years to say a few words of limited significance to old threads.
