Trajan. Can Anyone Help Me To Attribute Them Further Please?

Topcat7 Pillar of the Community 1121 Posts	Posted 03/06/2015 6:10 pm I have a couple of 'Trajan' coins that are giving me some headaches trying to attribute them, further. Can anyone help me please? I think that one is an 'As' and the other is a 'Semi' The 'As' is AE29, and weighs 11.7 gm The 'Semi' is AE15, and weighs 2.8 gm Report this Post to the Staff

These coins were minted in Rome and then shipped to the mid-east for circulation. Why they were not simply minted in Antioch is still a mystery. Report this Post to the Staff

Here is what I found "Cappadocia. Caesarea, Trajan. AD 98-117. minted and dated 98-99 Æ 17 mm (3.15 g). Obv: Laureate head right;. Rev: Mt. Argaeus, wreath above. uncommon in silver, rare in bronze.
