I was just curious, do you display your coins in some way or do you scrooge mcduck'em in a safe?. I ask 'cause I found this cool coin box on e-bay and I got it for a good price. it was slightly damaged, but luckly I'm not bad with wood and I was able to repair it. Thanks, J. I just have a safe with several Dansco albums in it. So if I want to display my coins, I just look through my album.

That's a great looking display chest. I don't Scrooge McDuck mine, but I don't keep 'em out in the open either.

People talk, even family who want to brag. Only coin collectors have any interest in looking at your coins, everyone else is bored to tears. By putting them on display, it would seem to me, that you are only inviting trouble. Mine are put away until I want to show them to another collector or look a them myself. Jim

That box does not look like it is a display box. Looks more like a cool storage box that can display them nicely if wanted. It's not like they are out in the open and it looks like it has locks as well.

Very nice. Can you purchase the tray inserts for that last drawer if you run out of room or are they also custom?

Believe me when I say that only a small piece of my collection is in the box. Most is in a safe. Only the ones I want to look at the most, I make readily available by placing them in the box. You would only know it holds coins if I open it so there is no inviting trouble. Most people don't even see it until I mention it. It locks too!. I don't think you can buy trays like that without the box/chest/cool display/safe kinda thing.

Very cool! If you don't mind me asking, how many beans did you have to throw for it?

$157.00, that includes the $25.00 shipping. I though it was well worth the money, also the pics kinda show the velvet a pinker color but its more of a deep blood red. I really like it.

I go to great measures to ensure no one can link my home address to my coin collection. Catalogues, supplies, coins, etc., get sent to my PO box. Nobody knows details about my collection. I would not put them on display, why invite trouble.
I have a case similar to yours acidic. Mines a tool box, you know the kind with drawers and a lock? It suits me fine. When I want to look, I just open the drawer. Like yourself, only a small portion of my collection is in the box.

What is a small safe that has drawers I can put coins in? I do not need a large one, nor a 500 dollar one. Is there such a thing?

A Small safe, Think nice convenient package to carry away your coins. unless it is bolted down. the Sentry fire type safes have no security. A good safe depends on size and weight to keep the bad guy's at bay. Even then with enough time the best safe can be opened. My other hobby is collecting large heavy hollow things and putting coins in them. Such as these Image Insert: Image Insert: Image Insert: Acidic1 Nice coin cabinet, Just remember that your coins will tone (some times that is not a good thing) if left for any length of time in a wood and cloth cabinet. I would put my coins in Airtites if I wanted to store them in a wood and cloth cabinet. I have been looking on the Bay for a cabinet like yours.
