Yep we made it through our 1st year together! My wife is the most wonderful woman in the world! She truly is a dream come true...

Long story short...She likes "bling" so I bought her a really nice gold bracelet but she changed her mind and wanted a laptop.
Bad news: The store would not give me a cash refund.
Good News: It just so happens that the store I purchased the bracelet has coins and they gave her a "store credit"! (Can you see where this is heading? )

She looked around and didn't see anything she really wanted so she said those magic words "Honey, why don't you just use the credit for your coin collection"!

She says I am done buying coins for a while and you will see why...especially since now I have to try to figure out how I am going to pay for a laptop!

Here is what I got today with the store credit:

1960 Lincoln Small Date Cent

First-Anniversary-Present-=-Pennies/$1/Gold
First-Anniversary-Present-=-Pennies/$1/Gold

1940 Proof Lincoln Cent

First-Anniversary-Present-=-Pennies/$1/Gold
First-Anniversary-Present-=-Pennies/$1/Gold

1909 VBD Lincoln Cent #1

First-Anniversary-Present-=-Pennies/$1/Gold
First-Anniversary-Present-=-Pennies/$1/Gold

1909 VBD Lincoln Cent #2

First-Anniversary-Present-=-Pennies/$1/Gold
First-Anniversary-Present-=-Pennies/$1/Gold

PCGS MS63 1921 Peace

First-Anniversary-Present-=-Pennies/$1/Gold
First-Anniversary-Present-=-Pennies/$1/Gold

1927 Indian Head Quarter Eagle

First-Anniversary-Present-=-Pennies/$1/Gold
First-Anniversary-Present-=-Pennies/$1/Gold

And to top it all off she got me this for my present from her:

1908 No Motto Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle

First-Anniversary-Present-=-Pennies/$1/Gold
First-Anniversary-Present-=-Pennies/$1/Gold

I reminded her that my birthday is next month and Christmas is the month after that...she said "Happy Anniversary/Birthday/Christmas", oh well gotta love her!

That's great! Your pretty smart planning ahead by buying her gift in a store that also sells coins. I guess now I know why your posting on here at 3am because the wife is asleep and she can't see that your planning to buy more coins. So which one is your favorite?

Thanks! No I am done for a while...no more buying for me unless I sell some stuff. My intention wasn't for her return the bracelet but it definitely worked out!

I am finishing up the all the pix for the VF or better 19th/20th Century Type set I am going to sell at the end of the month. That will allow me to get her laptop and get my last layaway coin out, a NGC MS63 20 cent.

I think the 1908 No Motto Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle is my favorite since she picked it out all on her own and it is technically my first gold coin!

I'd give her the exact same bracelet for Christmas with a note saying " If there's something else you'd rather have I can always return it!"
