Just came across about 25 $5 bills that my Dad had kept. Nothing special ,Journey series, kids playing hockey. I think the reason he kept them was because they were all in sequence.

The reason that I'm thinking of keeping them is not so much that they are in sequence but also because they are all in pristine shape , not a bend or fold on any of them.

Any thoughts?

GUNC notes are always good to have a few around...

The kids playing hockey is one of my favourite scenes from almost any of the notes... It's just so "Canadiana" kids out playing a game of shiney...

If I was you I would keep them..... but I'm me... so I actually kept 100 of 'em

I would keep them too. The whole hockey picture was great. They are in sequence as well, that is great as well. But sequence or not they are nice to keep. I have kept a few myself.

From the collector's point of view, like the above comments say, it's good to have a few gem UNCs of older series.
Personally it's the sentimental reason that decides if all of it should be kept.

That's still $125 face value. I'd personally keep the best 5 sequential (choose your preferred serial in the middle and the 2 on either side), then sell the others or use for trading for other things you are looking for. Also, as VanIsleKid pointed out, there were 2 issuances of this note, without the security strip and with it. You can also read the year printed on the back.

Yes, $125 is a lot to save, but it may be worth it. Can you upload pictures or list the serial numbers, just in case you have something uncommon?

Thanks everyone for the input.

I should have mentioned before,These are all Knight/Dodge Serial number AOC2084761 - AOC2084789 with no security strip. Nothing special but they are all gems.Too nice to spend.

I think follow the advice here and keep some for me and some for trading.
Thanks again.

The ones without the security strips sell for approx $15... The one with H_ _ prefixes also are a bit neat as they sometimes have stars on the one hockey stick

Definitely don't spend! The fact that these are the 2001 issue is cool, in my opinion. That's unfortunate that there aren't any good serial numbers in the sequence.
