For those of you interested in Mexican revolutionary currency, here's a note dating to late 1914 when Venustiano Carranza had temporarily surrendered his presidency and fled to Veracruz, which had just been evacuated by the occupying U.S. military forces. Crisp and apparently uncirculated.

Earlier today I happened to stumble across an uncirculated example of the 1 peso denomination dated to early 1915. I really like the depiction of the "Cap & Rays" peso coin on the back of these notes, the implication being that they're as valid and sound as and interchangeable with the officially minted silver coinage, which of course was far from being true, but from a psychological standpoint this imagery was a clever representation.
