HI
My kids found a coins and I can not find out what it is> It is not in the best shape.

The coin back side says 1826 - I can only make out ex on the top of the back
the front side is in better shape- it has a shield with an eagle in it. a little crown on top of it,on top the shield there is a bigger crown on the sides there is greenery going up it, with a bow on the bottom

the coin is about the size of a quarter but it is not round

any one who has an idea that would be great

thanks

All I can tell for sure is that it is not a United States coin. (The U.S. has always avoided crowns on their coins.)

There are a lot of possibilities. It could be a coin, medallion, token, game piece, etc. A picture would really help.

It certainly sounds like a German States coin. Specifically, Prussia. Their coat of arms seems to almost fit your description. Is this something like what you're seeing?

Edit to add: Oh, and what metal is it made of? Silver? Bronze? Something else?

And what exactly do you mean by "not round"? It sounds worrying...
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
