I don't know if this is writing or just a pattern, but I'm pretty sure it is ancient. 15mm at its widest. I'm also not sure which way is up. Thank you.

Man, this is a hard one. My first thought was that the upper pic was a really archaic-looking Sasanian style bust, but then I started seeing hoofs (when it's rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise)...but I don't know if I'm just imagining that. I hope someone recognizes it.

May be a 1/2 Jital of Krishnadevaraya of Vijayanagara (1520-1528 AD). The hoofs I saw could be the bull (rotate your top image 90 degrees counter-clockwise) which is referred to in the description of the obverse on some of these sites.

Thank you all! I think this is a Jital, as it weighs in at 3.5g. A 1/2 Jital should be around 1.5g. That image on the obverse just does not look like a bull to me, more like an ant.

Copper Jital, 3.47g
Ruler : Krishnadevaraya
Year : AD 1509 - 1530
Obverse : Bull, Sun and Moon
Reverese : Kannada Legends
