1960 Chinese Silver Dollar - Coin Community Forum

It was issued in China (Formosa) in 1960 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of China. It has Littleton Stamp and Coin Co. Inc. on the packaging. Anyone know a value? gxseries Pillar of the Community Australia 3831 Posts	Posted 10/25/2007 3:48 pm It's not really Chinese - it's from Taiwan and it's not silver but struck in Nicupro and then it's not a dollar either. It's a yuan. Those were struck in millions so don't expect a fortune for them. I'm not too sure if it's a key date or not but I don't think so. snowman Pillar of the Community United States 1840 Posts	Posted 10/25/2007 4:01 pm OK, the picture is small so I can't be 100% certain. I'm pretty sure that coin is not silver it's a copper-nickel-zinc composite. I'm also pretty sure it's actually from Republic of China aka Taiwan (I think Formosa is the Portuguese name for the island). It looks like a 1 Yuan coin, but I can't tell the date with such small pictures.
