I was wondering what every one's take is on the fairly new buffalo 24k coin. As well as preference in the 5,10,25,50 American Eagles and why? I'm assuming most everyone agrees that president spouse coins (liberty excluded) are over priced bullion what say you on that?

Also for any coin, are proofs and cameo's worth the investment or more for just personal satisfaction of looking at/having a good looking coin?

Collectors like proofs more than the normal business strikes, but your investment purposes you should get the uncirculated kinds because they're cheaper. Currently, all of the coins you listed are viewed as bullion and trade with a certain percentage higher than what their value in gold is. I think you should collect what you like.
