I wanted to share this pic of a nice extra spine I found on a 1993 penny.

Hi, Rocky: Thank you! It was taken with a USB microscope, no led's, just a background light.

Ho ho! Very nice, Steve! I haven't seen that one before -- late-date extra spines are tough to find. Will that one eventually go up for sale or is it one for the collection? Either way, thanks for sharing!

Thanks, everyone. Pennysaver, it is up for auction now. I started it at $7.99, not knowing where it should start and what the interest would be. There wasn't much to compare to except a few high grade and mostly early ones. I guess it's ok to post the auction if asked... http://www.ebay.com/itm/1993-LARGE-...STRK:MESE:IT

Although it's touching the spine it doesn't have the same shape as the spine. It looks more like the bud is partially doubled.

prefix-kix: We're not entirely sure what it is. SPP-OTTAWA had some interest in it and there may be an article published. I wish I hadn't of sold it as early as I did without fully knowing. However, for a coin that cost me a penny, it was a great return on investment! :-))

This coin made the 70th edition Charlton catalogue, in the variety section in the back. I wish I had bought it when Steve was selling it...

Dang! It auctioned for $25.73 CDN. Wish I had kept it, I often wondered what happened to it. Is there a value put on it in the Charlton?
