so did the mint decide to not do the "3-D" effects on the two outer pillars for this coin? I see it on the two beside Lincoln and even the tiny bit by his knee, but not on the two outer ones. is this the intent of the mint?

Not quite sure what you're referring to.

Can we see a picture of the coin in question?

the columns on the reverse, they have the "3-D" effect, as it was referred to on here, with the doubling of the columns. usually on the outer two and the two closet to Lincoln sitting in the memorial. but the 2003 penny I just seen, didn't have it on the outer two columns, just the other two.

This happens when the dies are over polished. Those mid devices get removed from the aggressive polishing.

somebody needs to take the rag and furniture polish out of the mint guy's hand. I know it's done with grease but no clue to how it's applied.

yes thank you coop. it's a wonder that a job that personal can still miss portions. I suppose parts of it are hard to polish without messing up the good parts.
did anyone notice on the first image, the guy in the background only has three fingers?

Yeah, die polishing had catastrophic consequences for him, so they had to move him into management.
