Hi AT - can't tell anything from the picture. I see you are using a loupe and a camera phone? to take the pictures. If the line is as thick as a device, then you probably don't need to use the loupe. Steady the phone when taking the picture using a solid object to rest against. Focal length is important, so do your best to find an object that sets the phone to that optimal focal length. See if that'll help clear up a shot. Then use the editor on your computer to tweak the image before the upload.

Without seeing anything, it sounds like you might be describing a clash. But let's have a look...

Hmmm...I see something that might be a goose-egg on the forehead area. But difficult to say. Might be a gouge though.

I take nearly all my pictures with my iPhone 5. Most shots are done using a 2.5" plastic tube as my 'tripod' and the specimen on a flat black background. Here is the tripod and a dime for reference. You might be surprised what you can pull off with a camera phone. It's a challenge at times getting the lighting right, but a little zoom, crop, and contrast you can take some decent shots. Good luck!

diffused lighting {axial lighting} removes shadows and shows reliefs through lights and darks.

It is probably part of a die polishing that reduced the mid devices in that area. There is a "N" on CENT in that a clash removeal from that location they might have been removing:
