I am about to head to the bank to buy rolls of coins. I was wondering what type (pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, etc...) of coins to buy.

Thanks

Based on a ten dollar budget !

Lincoln cents - 20 rolls
Jefferson nickels -5 rolls
dimes -2 rolls
Quarters -1 roll
half dollars -1 roll

which one do you think would be the most satisfying ?

If I was to go ,,it would be Lincoln cents for me ,, I can spend a couple of evenings looking through the 20 rolls ,, about an hour or less for the others .

Depends what you're hoping to find. It wasn't too long ago a new member here found a new Doubled Die Lincoln Cent. There was a lot of hoopla here, and it received a lot of attention from the experts. That was a pretty rare occurrence mind you, but it does still happen. Coppercoins' book is a must have. I think it's "Searching Through Lincoln Cents" by Charles Daughtery. He's a member here and pretty much the top expert in the field.

If you're looking for silver to make some extra cash, of course stick with the dimes, quarters, and halves if they have them. Sometimes you get lucky.

Regardless, good luck with whatever you choose.

I think I am going to go with the Lincoln cents. What exactly is a double die, isn't it where the die makes 2 imprints, and you have to look clostly to see it.

Shoot, get out the ATM card and get all of these for $50.00.

Lincoln cents - 20 rolls
Jefferson nickels -5 rolls
dimes -2 rolls
Quarters -1 roll
half dollars -1 roll

Live life on the edge and tempt fate. Now you need albums to fill. Better get $70.00 out and get a couple whitman albums at Borders.
