I would be interested in having your opinions of this coin - 1811 1/2C , variety C-1. Ex Goldberg.

Thank you for your help!

I'll guess between VG08 and VG10. Possible color issue. One heck of a nice coin!

Thank you, ed.
Yes, the picture unfortunately does not do a good job of rendering the coins true color - it is more uniformly dark brown on both sides.

EAC G-6 according to the EAC grading guide. Wow! What a rarity.
Always a joy to see your copper GERMANICVS.

Have to go on the higher side of VG.... VG10 ( Not an EAC grade). I don't think the small mark on the reverse should be a details mark. Nice coin. It's a bit nicer than my 8.

6 or 8, I don't see this making 10 there are no details left of the lower hair curl on the neckline. Obverse looks like it was exposed in an album and might come back details, but if the color is as you described it might not. Either way, nice coin! I still need both varieties for my set.

If I'm reading the offset correctly, there wasn't a heck of a lot pressuring the right side of the reverse to complete a strike. The offset is so large I think the denticles of the other die were under it.

VG-8 though the obverse photo makes it look like it has been cleaned.

Thank you all for your comments.
As mentioned, the obverse picture is not flattering, the coin is darker in color.
I am actually surprised I bid on it based on that photo!
I will retrieve the coin from the SDB and take my own pictures.
