Found this searching threw 3 cool whip containers of wheat pennies that the neighbor guy brought over. The 3 pennies before this were 55s and I about flipped when I seen the doubling on this. Then it hit me it was a 57. The spread on it is wider then any doubling I have seen. What type of doubling is it and is there any premiums on it.

Classic Mechanical Doubling. No Die doubling. You can see that the doubling is flat and shelflike. The die "chatters" during the strike and just moves metal around. Technically, it is a damage. It has no extra value other than being an example of one type of doubling not to collect:-)
