Alas, you are not correct on any of your three assumptions - it's not from India, it's not bronze, and it's not a coin.

This is a brass jewellery replica of an Ottoman Turkish gold coin. Originally, it would have been gilt, so as to better resemble the original, although the design is only crudely copied, so no-one would really be fooled at second glance. The original gold coins looked like this.

Many of these pieces were holed by the manufacturer, for wearing. Yours escaped the holing process, for some reason.
