More revolutionary currency, this dating from early 1915 and printed by Britton & Rey in San Francisco. I wish it were in better shape, but for only 25˘ it was a no-brainer.

Oh, how I wish I could find *any* world banknote for $0.25 - the going rate in my city is $1 per.

Great pick, I really like all of these Mexican Revolutionary notes. The portrait of Juarez there looks pretty close to the one still in use on the modern polymer $20 note.

I've got a cousin who looks kind of like Benito. He's a small dude.

In the current issue of the U.S. Mexican Numismatic Association journal, there just happens to be an article that points out some of the security features incorporated into these notes (there was evidently concern that these might be forged).

There's a small Mexican eagle inserted into the scrollwork in the lower left corner -

To the lower right of the image of Madero, there's a circled "ES" -

If you know where to look, these two motifs are also each very subtly placed within the yellow repeating "Estado de Sinaloa" background.

The designer's signature, appearing inconspiculously near the feet of the female figure, was also considered an anticounterfeiting measure -

Certainly a lot of effort lavished on making these state issued notes as secure as possible....
