(Old) New Houston Collector

Hi from Houston.

I engaged in some basic collecting while a kid (my Dad had an interest in the activity, so I kind of tagged along), which was mostly contemporary world coins.

Then the frantic pace of life took over and I had a long hiatus. Finally, my own kid re-kindled the collecting passion, and we decided to plunge into numismatics together (actually, we are collecting both coins and notes). Our focus is on South Pacific (we love Polynesian culture, marine life, legends, etc.), and we try to go after regular circulation coins/notes and sometimes fantasy money, like Niue and Easter (mint/proof/UNC sets specifically). Nothing too expensive, but we by now have representation from pretty much each island out there from Keeling all the way to Trade dollars of Maui.

We also pick up other coins from all over the wold from time to time, typically with marine/wildlife theme.
