It's not a gold ruble - I don't see the word "gold" anywhere on the note. The only "gold" note that I know is the chervonets which means 10 rubles in gold. Still quite interesting.
Thank's for the reply GX Now I forgot the site that I originally saw a pic. of to verify it. That 189-90 number was assigned to the bill. It stated it as a 5 gold ruble. ? I'll try searching some more. Maybe they meant to say chevronet. I always find the weird stuff :) Took me a while to even find out what part of russia it was from etc. It was with some of my grandfathers coins etc. He was in WWI.
