Hello everyone!

I found this clipped planchet in a box of $2,000. I'm still learning but I believe it is a clipped and not PMD because of the deformation on the opposite side of the clip (Blakesley effect?) and the stretching of the letters nearby the clip that move towards the clip. Let me know what you think. : )

I'n glad you were able to identify it as a legitimate clip by going beyond noticing the presence of the Blakeskey Effect. The metal flow of the letters nearest the clip is the best indication of a genuine clip, IMO. Congrats!

Curious. Where did you get the 2K box from ?
I have only seen $500.00 boxes. And two of those boxes are pretty heavy :)

Indian1: Sorry, I meant 4 boxes of $500 Yea I've since learned they can be pretty heavy; being my first time doing halves I stuck all of them in a backpack then made the mistake of bending my knees to open my trunk. Fell backwards right in the bank parking lot!

$2000 is a hundred pounds of coins. Wonder you stood at all.

Haha yeah, they offered for me to take 2 trips to my car and I agreed but then they left me with the boxes standing at an empty counter off to the side. Although I'm sure no one would have been able to take them and run off I didn't feel comfortable leaving them there without a teller nearby. Lesson learned :)
