Although weakly struck and quite a bit off-center, I really liked this denarius. Maybe I like it because it is unusually 'mishappenly' struck for the type.

It is definitely worn. But, I cannot decide, how much is strike and how much is wear. Would very much appreciate your comments.

Thank you!

Denarius, Julius Caesar, dictator from 49 BC till his assassination in 44 BC, issue in memory of his death, moneyer P. Sepullius Macer, 44 BC, CAESAR - DICT. PERPETVO, veiled and wreathed head of Caesar right, rev MACER, Venus standing left, holding Victory and sceptre, shield at Victory's side, Syd 1074; Cr 480.

Looks like a weak strike since the coin on both sides has weakness in the same area. Still a great coin

The guy wheeling the hammer must have had too much wine that day. The odd shape and weak strike gives the coin a bit more character.
