There's a whole lot wrong with this coin.. but I can't tell what happened to it.. My best guess is that this is almost like salt corrosion but there's no rust flaking or verdigris really happening... can anyone else explain why the fields look like the surface of mars on one side (obverse) and very pitted almost like it's been sandblasted on the reverse?
