So I've got all the common date wheats, and I have a seller with lots of key dates. I'm looking to start adding the key dates to my set, which coins would be the best to start with for a lower budget? i.e. 60$ Canadian or American per coin.

He does not have the following...

1909-s,1909-svdb,1913-s,1913-d,1922-d,1933-p,1954-p

I'd be happy with VG-8, f-12 or VF grades.

A 1914D in VG for $60 is a great deal. A steal really.

Forget the s-vdb. that's way over your budget. all the other wheats you mentioned are in your budget. but the 33-p and 54-p are easily obtainable at very low cost. just stay within the grades you mentioned.

I know the 1909 S VDB is out of my current price range. But I would really like a 1909 VDB, or a 1931 S. Just looking to get started with the key dates.

I found a MS 1931-S for $100, you shouldn't have any problem picking up one in VG or F for your price range.

Be Careful. So many of those dates you mentioned have been counterfeited or dated coins modified. For example so many 1922 D' have been made into a 1922 no D by erasing. So many 09S, 09S VDB and especially the 1914 D 's have been made so be careful. What you probably should do is check out the coppercoins web site to see examples of faked coins like those. Prices on all the ones you mentioned are all over the place depending on grade, who is selling, where you live, etc. One thing is that 31S is really common in high grades for a decent price due to all the hoarding on those way back.
