Got this one back in change this weekend. Reminds me of when I was a kid shooting coins with my Daisy BB gun back in the late '70's. How cool would it be if this was one of my targets that made it's way back to me after 35 years...

Wow, I totally missed the irony! It is definitely going in a 2×2 now!

I dunno if a Daisy BB pellet would have that much power behind it. I think the pit may have been impressed with rather less violence, but more force.
What does the other side of the coin look like?

Sure looks like a BB impression to me (I did the same thing as a kid). BBs are very hard and don't deform easily.

Is this the 'Ford's Theater' variety?

Quote: I dunno if a Daisy BB pellet would have that much power behind it. Your out of date. Some BB/pellet guns today have velocities well over 1,000 ft/sec. And using Steel BB's, you'ld be amazed at how much damage they can do. Some manufacturers even claim up to 1,400 fps. Maybe I'm not right but wasn't Lincoln shot in the back of the head? Not sure if right or left side but this coin could be commemorating that event.

It is what it is, but this topic is approaching the borderline of what is acceptable.

The significance of where indent on the the image of Lincoln on the coin is, was not lost on me.
I thought I would rely on Americans who want to post in this thread, to make the most accurate comments.

I like how the test coin is the same year and mint. Very scientific.

I believe the original coin of the post has the BB impression placed historically accurately.

I'm pretty sure someone shot a BB gun at Lincoln.

Something wrong here. The experimental coin shows a distorted shape where as the original seems to lay flat for the picture.. Inconclusive in my book.
