What grade would you give this coin? It is a 997-1038 Hungarian Denar,Stephen I. I keep flip-flopping between gVF and low EF.

Well totally awesome is not a grade. I tend to favor lower grade bias, with the slight honest wear on the first photo and the weakness on the second photo leaves it a VF+ or gVF. I can see why you are wrestling with it. I am sure in the right light it's EF.

There does appear to be a little weakness in the strike, not quite EF. I'd grade it a gVF. Very nice coin.

I'm not worth a flip at grading, but it's a great lookin' medieval coin ED...nice crisp details.
