Sadly he bought these coins because the seller give him a sad story stating his son was sick and he needed to sell the coins to take his son to the doctor. SteveCaruso Pillar of the Community United States 1796 Posts	Posted 03/26/2015 9:39 pm The first one is the most commonly searched for counterfeit/fantasy coin on the Internet, CF-S$1-1851-0001: http://www.theblackcabinet.org/coun...1-1851-0001/ The second one is a fake Silver Eagle, but it's not a variety I've seen before (a very different style date than the ones I have in the stacks). Both should stick to a magnet like glue. And the ones I have in my collection were a similar sympathy play carried out by a con artist who was subsequently caught.
