My dad obtained this coins from a coin dealer in Texas. I just wanted to know if they are real or not. I already summited another one and these are the other one. Thank you for your assistance.

They look like they maybe Silver rounds. So if they are silver they would have a value.

I've seen these sold in a flea market and they're not silver. Both are counterfeits.

It's sad when people take advantage of the elderly and people with good intentions. Sadly he bought these coins because the seller give him a sad story stating his son was sick and he needed to sell the coins to take his son to the doctor. I wish I can turn these people in for this crime. Thank you for all your help.

The first one is the most commonly searched for counterfeit/fantasy coin on the Internet, CF-S$1-1851-0001: http://www.theblackcabinet.org/coun...1-1851-0001/

The second one is a fake Silver Eagle, but it's not a variety I've seen before (a very different style date than the ones I have in the stacks).

Both should stick to a magnet like glue.

And the ones I have in my collection were a similar sympathy play carried out by a con artist who was subsequently caught.
