I was debating sending this off along with my GSA Carson City 1883, 1884, and 1885. I was wondering if all of you think it is worth sending in. I am pretty sure this hasn't been cleaned, and I did see a very faint rim bump on the reverse near the second A in America. I am thinking this would probably net a VG8 grade. Does anyone see any other issues that would net it a details grade? I need answers as soon as possible because I am sending the rest out tomorrow. Thanks.

I think VG8 is wishful thinking. More like G4 to G6. The letters worn into the rim do not help the cause. I don't think it will get net graded.

I wouldn't put any more money into the coin. The money paid to slab a circ coin like this is hard to recover.

Concur with problem-free G06. IMHO not worthy of the cost of a PCGS submittal.

I dunno, it's a $250 coin in PCGS G06. Depending on how much the OP has in the coin, I'd prefer to see it in a slab as a buyer.

I don't think the bump on the back would knock the coin, in fact honest circulation seems to have made that bump acceptable. I think the two bumps on the obverse are worse, but likely not enough to get a details grade. I am at a G-6 with this coin too, even if they let the wear on the reverse slide and consider a VG-8, the obverse bumps (by date and Trust) would keep it at a G-6.

I will not submit this into PCGS, not worth it after all....I may sell this and use the $ to buy a certified example by ngc or pcgs

I agree you can find a nicer one if you look around..
Look for good rims and original color.

The decision to keep is yours of course but it's probably worth more than two of your three GSA's.
