I was noticing a post about the two feather Buffalo nickel and wondered what are they talking about. So I searched the internet for more information about these and came up with this:
http://coins.coolkarma.com/?p=3

Quote:
As with all Abraded Die Varieties (ADVs), Two Feather varieties were created after some damage occurred to a die, typically from a die clash. If the clash occurred in the vicinity of the Indian's small feather, the small feather may have been removed when a mint employee attempted to remove the evidence of the die clash.

Another die over polished! But this is considered collectable? (another coin to add to my overpolished/over priced coins and not really a die variety list)

But those who are curious I made a couple of images for you to view.

Thanks for the great pics/info coop!

I've never found one of these yet, but then again I never really looked to see what exactly was a 2 feather.

I know now where to look!

What ever years they polished the dies. They seem to be noticed more on the teens. Another polished die anomaly.
