Wow, this old girl has seen better days. In the EAC this surface is what we call "scudzy". Not usually a term you want used to describe one of your coins. It appears that this coin was probably buried for quite some time.
The die variety is N-7 which is an R.2. As far as grade I'll say F-15 details but will net grade it down to 8 for the surface.
1820 N-7 R.2 15/8-.
