Sorry to drop in out of no-where. I'm just a traveler that grabs interesting things that catch my eye, and I have 3 coins here, I picked them out of coffee cans full of junk at a few bazaars in the Hindu Kush. Any help identifying or narrowing down their history would be greatly appreciated!

The first appears to be brass? At least there's a lot of verdigris corrosion on it. It's got a rough design similar to some Umayyad examples I've found, but it's pretty rudimentary looking, I'm thinking an early mint or perhaps a locally derived facsimile?

The final one I've managed to read as being minted by A n t I m a c h u s I I N I k e p h o r o s ? However I've not been able to find an exact example of it:

In any event, I'd like to think I have an eye for more interesting things in foreign markets than rusting "authentic" American Eagle Silver Dollars. Thanks again!

Hmm... the forum would not allow me to post "Antimachus II Nikephoros" for some reason.

to the community.

I can't help with the first two coins, but I believe the third one is Antialkidas 145-135 BC. Or at least it appears to be from what I can out out of the legend.

For your last coin, if you used the same url as on the 3rd one it will not load. Use the Upload Image feature provided here and as long as the image is under 200k you will have no problem loading it.

Thank you for the welcome and reply!

There are 3 coins, the large brass one which I have posted the obverse and reverse, the second (obverse and reverse) and the 3rd which I was having issues posting. Let me try again here...

Thanks again for your help, here's a better shot of the obverse of the Greek coin. It's rather small.

Echizento, I do believe you are correct - the portrait and layout definitely resemble that of Antialcidas over Antimachus and it fits with the region in question! That you for the correction, it is very exciting. : )
