A bit hard to see through the plastic, but will say MS60 for now. Is that a scratch through the date or on the holder, or a die crack?

I can retake the photo tonight without the holder. I believe that line is from the holder.
Rest in Peace

very nice dime even with rim hits obv. and rev. I think the line through date
is on the holder. assuming it has full sharp LIBERTY, ( pic is fuzzy ).
MS-61.

I will work on better pictures tonight and repost. The sun was setting so my natural lighting was bad.

If you shoot in sunlight, make mention of the fact. Sunlight is brutal on coins, and the resulting images will present it in an unfavorable light. Viewers might grade it a point or two low as a result.

Knowing that, of course, we can correct for it if necessary.

$32?

You're OK with this one.

A TPG might call it AU58 due to the nature of the marks on the cheek but I'm not so sure it's circulated. So if Mint State, probably in the 62-63 neighborhood due to the prominent location of the marks.

Any digital photography is hard on a coin, unfairly highlighting surface marks. Sunlight is the worst, but also the best light source for detecting hairlines. You'll have far more control using artificial lighting, as long as your camera is capable of correcting for white balance.

Thanks SD! What would you value a coin like this if you were to purchase it?

I agree with Dave on the 62 to 63 but the rim ding and marks on the face could bring an ms 60 grade. My friend god rest his soul used to work for NGC and here's his expiration. A mint state coin is ms and should never be graded au no matter how many mask it has. That's why GSA cc's are always ms we know they came from a bag to the holder. Now being human if a coin has an ms 60 look and heavily marked graders sometimes will drop it to au but it's really supposed to be the difference from ms 60 to 70 that is judged on how much chatter. If your new you might want to try smart phone pictures. I'll post a couple that were taken with a samsung 4. You'll see that you get nice pictures without picking up all the little hairline or micro imperfections.

If it's as Mint State as we think, value should be ~$125 in 62 and maybe $200 in 63.

I'm not sure it would go MS. Not with a small rim ding on the obverse and reverse. What is the mark between the C and A in America?

Doesn't the darkness in the center of the "O" and "D" imply not MS, perhaps cleaned?
