Hi Shatsi

Although I am far from a Morgan Lover or expert the coin looks like a lock at a 63 and being a GSA with all the packaging and certifications,, it is worth the 200.00 IMO.

Rick, thank you for your opinion. Do you think the spots are toning and not rust?

Shatsi

Silver dont rust ,, but If I had to speculate on what they maybe I would say they are a contaminate of some kind,That probly wasnt visable on the coin when it was holdered, and more than likely the reason the coin wont grade higher than a 63.

as for calling them toning , I would have to see the spots under some significant magnification to really say toning or contaminate,, but the brownish red color leads me more toward a spec of something that has laid there and reacted with the coin.

I too would grade it at MS-63. It's pretty typical.

Hi Shatsi,
It isn't a bad price for the coin, from what it seems from a search of heriage site auction archives. But these coins are readily available, at that price. Why not try for another? One sold on heritage (NGC 63) two weeks ago for $172, several this summer for less, none for more, that I saw recently.
Just my 2c- I am not a morgan expert. There are several NGC 63s on the heritage site now, and one which is closing in 6 days seems to have nice original suraces...
Good luck!
Don
I don't have the current CDN, but graysheet ask was $180 on 7/29.
