That is a very cool item. I agree, that the price is pretty high...  On a different note, Skelly, welcome to the forum. The ME page for the seller indicates Jess Lipka who is associated with CGA. The grading co. pre dates both PCGSC and PMG. From reading on another forum this note came out of a Smythe sale for less than $15K. And that I believe was way too cheap for a 1st with a serial nr. of 1. A million bucks would put it on par with a Grand Watermelon. Just for fun, 1st $2 note with s/n 1....$100K. First $2 note with S/N 2....$200K.

I saw that rarity on ebay over four months ago I figured that seller would have given up by now! Its probably worth 50 grand especially in that crappy condition. |
