I received 2 rolls of the 2007 D cents in the N.R String & Sons wrappers. All the coins look wonderful..except this one. It stuck out like a sore thumb. Was this done by the machine that rolls the coins into wrappers?

Hi

In the bottom pic. is that something on the coin itself ? if so what ?
if it is a raised area of the coin it looks like one big Cud !
Middle pic. - It looks like there is no rim to part of the obv. egding. a couple things going on here. will wait and see what some of the experts say.

Very interesting

Do you have a close up of the "A" in America?

Thanks everyone for your comments, I'll try and post a better picture of the OF and A.

My camera set up is not fancy. I use my Kodak DX6490, 4.0 Mega Pixels
10X optical zoom with a cheap desk lamp, I used Irfanview to crop photos then photobucket for storage. For me lighting is the hardest thing about getting photos right. I use different thicknesses of tupperware bowls to cover the lamp to get the best lighting for the type of coin. I think there is a redneck joke in there somewhere.

How do you suspend the bowls?

I use a clip on desk lamp with the flexable neck, with a 15 watt bulb. It's nice because you can adjust it up or down easily. I use the clear plastic small (the round 1.2 liter) tupperware containers. Small piece of duct tape to hold container. No flash bulb needed and minimal glare from coin. Cheap set up and works fine for now.

This is one that should be looked at first hand and closely before pronouncing it dead:-)

I see what looks like a weak strike line on the obverse cutting from the lower portion of the bust, following a curve pretty close to the curve of a second strike and moving through the date region of the coin.

It all lines up with the weird looking area on the reverse. The spot above oF A really needs to be looked at closely.

For me the jury is far from finished without closer pictures of the coin.

It could be a clunker but don't give up on this one too soon.

Here's a couple more I took this a.m with differnt lighting. Hope they are better. This is about as close up as I can get without distorting the photo.

I just can't tell from the photos....even with the better lighting, the details I need to see are too small to examine in the photos.

Thanks for adding the extra pics, though.
