This is not a key date or anything (atleast not that I am aware of) so what gives? I don't think the two Cuds would cause this big of a jump in price (but I am no error collector) Link to ebay auction

Looks to me that the c****e bidder really wants this coin, he just keeps on bidding, even when no one out bids him
Rest in Peace

It does not mean that no one else bid. He most likely has a high max bid and other bidders that have not exceeded his max do not show up. Next, I do not know if the Cud's add that much value but this coin seems to be way over priced. Perhaps there is something special that the bidder recognizes such as a certain die marriage or other characteristic that pushes the value up. Best I can tell this is not a low mintage example, and is now priced around what a nice solid MS example would go for. Finally, maybe someone just really wants that coin! Mike

Mabey something with the obverse rim at both 4 and 10 o'clock (which you mentioned)? Or mabey they're thinking it's 1842O.

Actually, looking at it a little closer, there are only 3 bidders for a total of 33 bids. The 3 bidders are (c***e, a***g, and .***y). It just seems a little too suspicious.

the reason the names have the ****'s in there is because once a auction gets over 100.00 ebay automatically hides the identity from everyone on who's bidding on that item
