Went roll hunting today for halves. Found a 2004 S, 1996 S, and a 1989 S. All appear to be in really good shape with great luster. There is a small scratch on the right side of Kennedy's head on the 94, but the edges are all really good. They look like they just came out of a plastic holder, minus the one scratch. No silver coinage though, but I still consider it a goo find.

Good Luck InfiniteIntrest! My wife is going to cash in my searched halves and go back to the bank to get me some more in the morning while I'm sleeping. That way I can wake up and start the search all over again!

Whoa, your wife rocks :) My wife seems embarrassed to ask for coins.

Good luck with the hunt :)

Yeah, I got pretty lucky with my wife. At first she said that I was way to young to pick up the hobby, and even said that she was going to buy me a "pocket protector". But afte a couple of weeks of roll hunting, she started to see that I was finding a lot of silver. I then showed her the Red Book bullion prices of the coins that I had been finding, and now she is on board and says that as long as I keep making her money she isn't going to make fun of me. I guess it'll break her heart when she finds out that I don't intend on selling my finds because I really like collecting them now.

Anyway, I found a 1964 and 3-40% silver halves today. Not the best day of roll hunting that I've had, but I'm not complaining. Any day that I find old halves I'm happy.

Congratulations on your finds. Do you get a case of Half dollars from the bank or a couple of rolls?

I usually buy between $100-200 worth of halves at a time.
