Hi everyone.
I'm back with another teaser for you all.
This one is a Byzantine silver coin.
I'm not very good with Byzantine ones and this applies to this one also.
Not sure if one side shows Christ or a king but the other side looks like it shows a nursing Madonna.
I haven't been able to find anything with this picture on it at all so I thought I would try the experts, namely yourselves.
See what you think.

From what I can see this is a billon trachy of John II 1118-1143. The obverse is the Virgin Mary enthroned and the reverse is John standing holding labarum and globe with cross. These coins are usually cup shaped, this one appears to be somewhat flattened. SB 1944

Ahh! You folks are the best.
I have just looked up that reference and found the exact coin. Thank you very much. That's a great help.
I was hoping it was silver but one cannot have everything.
I'm wondering now how much it's worth as I may put it on ebay so I can afford to buy another coin. Hah. It never ends.
Anyway, it's been a pleasure as usual and I will go now and try to find another problem coin for all you clever people.
Ta ta.

Based on condition this coin is worth $5-$10.
