I have most of the one ounce Britannia Silver "2 pounds" coins. Very beautiful!

I have them enclosed in the plastic, in which I assume they arrived from the mint.

I am looking for suggestions as to how to display them. Airtites? If so, then what? Are there folders or albums for them?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Airtite has an album that holds coins in the airtite capsules.

Reasonably priced, too.

Great!

Thanks for the information.

That's propably the way I'll go. I recently ordered airtites from the company, but wasn't aware they sold albums.

Again, thanks.

Gary,
Did you find a way to store them?
Where do you buy them from?
So far the best price I've seen is $17

Sorry it took so long to answer your question shatsi.

I think I'll go along with kuhli's suggestion and order airtites and their holders from the Airtite company in Arkansas.

I have to admit I'm still a little confused as to finding the right sizes, etc., but I'll figure it out.

Once I get these coins into an album, I'll turn my attention to my Australian 1 ounce coins (Animals).

I really think these Britannia coins and their Australian counterparts are the most beautiful coins I have seen in recent times. I'm really excited about collecting them.

As to where I bought the Britannias, I received one as a gift, bought another, I think, from C&C Coins, and several others from a coin company which specializes in silver. Sorry, I can't remember the name of the company right at the moment. Cost averaged about $20 as I recall, with the least expensive right around $17.

After delving into my memory a little bit, I think I remember the on-line company from which I bought some of the Britannias, as well as an Australian Lunar coin or two. I believe it was called silversuperiorcoin.com. The costs were reasonable and the delivery service was very good.

On my way home tonight I was thinking about how I first got started in collecting Britannia and Australian Lunar coins.

I was at a good sized mall (for our part of the world!), and the mall had invited small dealers in collectibles to set up their little shops in the hallways. I stopped by one and there they were...a 1998 Britannia 1 ounce silver bullion coin, and the 2000 Australian Lunar (snake) 1 dollar bullion coin.

I was hooked immediately. Beautiful coins.

The postman delivered some Britannias today and I now have 1998 through 2005 issues. Still trying to decide the best way to display them and store them.

Gary, I'm assuming you're collecting the UNC version? I was at The Royal Mint website and was looking at the proof and its a low mintage of 2500 so I ordered one. I don't know whether you're int in proofs but just thought of letting u know.

2500 is very low.

I'll check out the web site, and then check out my finances. Maybe I can order one.

Just ordered the proof coin from the mint.

Seems like a good investment, and certainly a beautiful coin to add to my collection.

Bought some air tite holders today from my local coin dealer. Fit was perfect. Now, I'm half finished with my display problem. I have them encapsulated, now comes the search for an attractive show and storage case.

Good to know. I think I'll store them in air-tites and display in a Nova stack tray.

I was wondering if you received your proof coin from the mint yet?

I also ordered one and am anxious to get it. I'm sure it will be beautiful, plus 2500 is a very low mintage.
